The Active Athletes Assembly serves as the voice of all athletes. The Assembly appoints active athletes to the Board of Directors, and to other positions within USA Cheer. The USA Cheer Active Athletes Assembly is comprised of a diverse group of athletes from across the country with extensive training and success in all disciplines of cheer.
Active Athletes Assembly Members
David McDowell - Chair, Board of Directors Representative He is the Coed Coach for Team USA. He also was the Head Cheer Coach for the University of Alabama in 2011 and the Head Cheer Coach for the University of Florida in 2005-2006. David also spent many years as a professional cheer instructor.
Emily Burster - Vice Chair, Board of Directors Representative She is a former cheerleader for Drexel University and has spent 6 years as a professional cheer instructor.
Chelsey Kannan - Board of Directors Representative In high school, she cheered at Brookwood High School. Then went onto cheer for Hawaii Pacific University and won two national championships on the small coed team and three All-Girl stunt titles. She was also part of Team USA's All-Girl Team in 2010 and 2011. She spends her summers as an instructor for the Universal Cheerleaders Association.
Ryan Martin - Secretary Ryan grew up in Lexington, KY and won four KAPOS state titles, five UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship titles, and one UCA partner stunt title with Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. She currently is a member of the University of Alabama cheerleading team that placed first at the 2011 UCA College Nationals and a member of the Team USA Coed team that took home the gold medal at the 2011 ICU World Championships.
Amanda Scripture Amanda cheered for Kennesaw State University and has been on Team USA All-Girl squad since 2009. From 2009-2011 she cheered for Planet Cheer Galaxy International Open Co-ed level 5. Before she was a cheerleader, she was a 5-time Maine State All-Around Gymnastics Champion in levels 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Savanna Sibley Savanna is the Head Cheer Coach for Hawaii Pacific University. She has also cheered at Hawaii Pacific University and won 4 national championships with the coed team and two All-Girl partner stunt national titles.
David Schuch Schuch started his cheerleading career at Traverse City West Senior High School in Traverse City, Michigan. He then continued his career at Central Michigan University where he cheered for five years. While at CMU he competed amongst the top division IA teams in the country; as well as receiving national honors in partner stunting on three separate occasions. David was the captain of CMU's cheerleading squad for three consecutive years. He then transferred to Morehead State University, where he cheered for three years and won three national championships in Division I. David proudly graduated in 2008 from MSU with two teaching certifications in Special Education and Physical Education as well as Master's degree in Special Education. David is now currently cheerleading and earning his EdD in Special Education at the University of Memphis.
Jasmine Arnold In 2011, Jasmine was on Team USA's All-Girl Team and hsa been a professional cheer instructor for the last 5 years.
Kendra Williams Kendra cheered for four years on the small coed team at the University of Alabama. She is a former assistant coach of John Carroll Catholic High School and has been a UCA Instructor for six years.
